Emma has developed fully integrated, trans-disciplinary units for students, engaging them in authentic Project Based Learning. These units are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, providing a proactive approach for youth in shaping their world. She is leading the roll out of this approach across her Middle School. She has tailored a curriculum model around three pillars, Care, Create, Connect, innovated on the Design Thinking Framework to create their Catalyst Design Thinking and developed meaningful applications of these, such as the school’s Symposiums, IGNITE Social Enterprise Programme and Onland Learning Applications. At the heart of Emma's educational vision is a firm belief that every student should have the opportunity to ignite meaningful change within their communities. Education, in her view, serves as the ideal platform for fostering engagement and forging partnerships that drive positive social justice and sustainability initiatives. Being provided with autonomy, choice and agency through this learning has allowed students to identify purpose and worth in the projects they are engaging with. Her passion for developing learning opportunities that support community-focused social justice and sustainability initiatives for students continues to grow, fueled by her unwavering commitment to their education and development.
